Partying with Purose

Thank you to everyone who showed up and made our 1st Townhall Gathering such a powerful experience. Just Party Party truly proved that we can party with purpose—bringing thoughtful dialogue, community voices, and real issues to the table. From conversations on housing, the poverty line, minimum wage, and ganja/cannabis discrimination to the music, guest speakers, and collective energy in the room, this gathering was a reminder of what’s possible when community comes together with intention. We’re grateful to every speaker, participant, and supporter who helped make this moment meaningful.

45 years Strong and a Gala that Shined just as Brightly

The Brownsville Heritage House 45th Anniversary Gala & Awards Ceremony, was a truly unforgettable celebration of our legacy and its deep roots in the community. The evening unfolded in a beautifully decorated room filled with warmth, elegance, and the pride of 45 years of service.

Highlights of the Night

  • A stunning gala space that blended sophistication with the cultural richness of BHH.

  • Spectacular food and drinks that elevated the celebration and delighted every guest.

  • Live Music of Ronnie Burrage accompanied by his band.

  • Inspiring words from our guest speakers - Attorney General Letitia James' video message, Dr. Sharon Deans (daughter of Ms. Patricia Deans,) who also presented Mr. Horace Young with the cultural award in her mother's name, Mrs. Lashawn-Allen Mohammed executive director of Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation, Councilman Chris Banks who also presented our Mother Gaston Leadership Award to Mrs. Iris Robertson and finally our very own Brownsville native Assemblywoman Latrice Walker. They all honored the past, celebrated the present, and energized the vision for the future.

The night captured everything the Brownsville Heritage House represents—heritage, unity, resilience, and community love—making it a celebration that will be remembered for years to come! Thank you to all that made it possible.

We are so grateful for your presence at our Children’s Kwanzaa Celebration. Your support, joy, and participation helped make the event truly special for our young ones. By coming together to honor the Seven Principles, you’ve helped plant seeds of unity, pride, and cultural appreciation that will grow in their hearts for years to come. “Asante sana” for being part of this beautiful tradition and for helping us keep the spirit of Kwanzaa alive for the next generation.
